The Labour Court recommended that Haleon Glaxosmithkline Dungarvan Ltd should not concede a supplementary pay claim made by Unite for 550 workers at its OTC site. The recommendation was dated 13 October 2023. Unite sought an extra 7.5% pay rise and an increase in the value of a tax-free voucher from €500 to €1,000. The company said the claim conflicted with a three-year pay agreement, which runs until 31 December 2023. The Court found that the agreement remained in force unless both parties agreed to vary it, and no such agreement had been made. It noted that the union's concerns could be discussed in negotiations for a new pay agreement.
