The Labour Court recommended that technicians in Cork City Council’s Leak Detection Unit accept the reporting structure proposed by the Council. The recommendation was dated 2 November 2006. The Irish Municipal, Public And Civil Trade Union said technicians should continue reporting within their own grade, while the Council said the structure had been agreed. The Court said the arrangement had become practically necessary after a restructuring of the Water Inspector grade.
