Labour Court recommends enhanced redundancy terms for two Mayfield former employees

The Labour Court recommended that Mayfield Employment Action Group concede the Irish Municipal, Public And Civil Trade Union’s claim for enhanced redundancy terms for two former employees. The recommendation was dated 3 November 2006. The union sought four weeks’ pay per year of service in addition to statutory entitlements already paid. Mayfield accepted the claim had merit but said it lacked funding. The Court considered the package reasonable and recommended that the parties jointly approach the funding agency to seek the money needed to implement it.
