In 1999, the Labour Court recommended that Cascade Design Limited pay an ex-gratia £3,000 lump sum to settle a regrading dispute raised by the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union. The recommendation was dated 18 October 1999. The union sought the same title and pay for a production supervisor as the Unit Production Manager, saying she had previously overseen Jetrest production and managed more staff. The Court accepted that the roles had material differences, but said the company bore some responsibility for not making its intentions clear before advertising the position.
