In 1999, the Labour Court recommended that Fulflex International Limited and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union follow the 1988 productivity agreement for processing speeds and agree a supplementary pension contribution. The recommendation was signed on 22 June 1999. The Court found that the company could increase processing speeds to achieve the 150-ton weekly target under the agreement, which included an 8.5% productivity payment. It found additional payments for the increased output were not warranted, and recommended workload monitoring and an engineer’s assessment if workers believed the workload had increased. For the supplementary pension plan, the union accepted the company’s proposal subject to an increased company contribution from 1% to 2%. The Court recommended a 3% total contribution, funded equally by the employer and employees at 1.5% each.
Labour Court recommends 3% pension contributions and no extra productivity payment at Fulflex
