In 1997, the Labour Court recommended against a union claim to upgrade a worker’s post at Teagasc from Grade IV to Grade V. The worker handled accounts duties at the National Dairy Product Centre in Moorepark, Fermoy. The recommendation was signed on 10 June 1997. The union argued that the worker’s duties and a comparison with another Grade V post supported the higher grade. Teagasc said a 1996 review had assessed the post at Grade IV. The Court found no grounds to change the post’s grading and did not recommend concession of the claim.
