In 1995, the Labour Court found the Transport Salaries Staffs' Association’s complaint about how Bus Eireann reorganised its Waterford office was justified, but recommended maintaining the existing clerical structure. The recommendation was signed on 19 May 1995. The association said the reorganisation reduced clerical staffing by one and that workloads made it impractical for one senior clerical officer to cover the responsibilities. Bus Eireann said duties had been reallocated, the remaining senior clerical officer could manage the revised role, and staff in the schools office had received grade upgrades. The Court said the way the change was implemented was not conducive to good industrial relations and recommended arrangements to secure employee co-operation in future changes. It also considered an O & M study and recommended keeping the structure then in operation.
