The Labour Court recommended that Waterville Mink Farm Limited introduce a 39-hour week, while deferring implementation of pay phases under the Programme for Economic and Social Progress until 31 March 1993 for a review of the company's circumstances. The recommendation was signed on 5 November 1992. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union had sought the shorter week and payment of the phases. The company cited losses and unsold pelts. The Court said the company should implement the shorter week if it accepted the recommendation.
