The Labour Court recommended that three charge hands at Kerry Foods accept the company’s offer in full and final settlement of a dispute over removal of their Grade 5 rate. The recommendation was signed on 9 July 2024. The union said increased activity had brought extra work and responsibility and that a manager had approved the higher rate. Kerry Foods said the manager’s approval was an error, but it would not seek repayment of wages already paid. Its offer was compensation at 1.75 times the workers’ annual loss.
