In 1992, the Labour Court did not recommend concession of Services Industrial Professional Technical Union's claims over contractor use and the meaning of after-hours customer service under its agreement with Bord Gais Eireann (Southern Region). The claims concerned fitters based in Cork. On contractor use, the Court considered the union's understanding a misunderstanding of the agreement and related documents, and noted the company's undertaking that the changes would not cause compulsory redundancies. On after-hours cover, it considered the company's interpretation proper. The recommendation was signed on 14 April 1992.
