The Labour Court recommended that the Southern Health Board increase its compensation offer to psychiatric nurses affected by roster changes, to an amount equivalent to two years’ lost earnings. The recommendation was signed on 21 October 1991. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union had sought compensation of five times annual losses, including lost overtime and other roster-related premia. The Court recommended that staff accept the revised offer and that new rosters be implemented without delay, with the reduction in hours effective from 1 September 1990.
