The Labour Court did not recommend that Cadbury (Ireland) P.L.C. concede claims made by Services Industrial Professional Technical Union and Amalgamated Transport and General Workers Union in an annual pay and conditions dispute. The recommendation was signed on 11 July 1990. The claims included pay rises, changes to allowances, leave, working hours and other workplace benefits. The Court said the claims were contrary to the Programme for National Recovery.
