In 1990, the Labour Court found no grounds to concede the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union’s claim for a further 7.50% payment for nine warehouse workers at Acco Ireland Limited. The recommendation was signed on 10 July 1990. The union said the workers’ productivity had increased beyond the work-practice changes covered by an earlier 7.50% rise. Acco disputed that warehouse throughput had grown. The Court recommended that the parties agree to an industrial engineer’s investigation of the warehouse work and discuss the resulting report.
