WRC rejects Google Ireland race discrimination complaint

The Workplace Relations Commission found that Eyob Van Haute had not established a prima facie case of race discrimination against Google Ireland Limited after his dismissal. The decision was dated 28 April 2026. Van Haute alleged that his dismissal involved less favourable treatment on race grounds. Google Ireland said it dismissed him over performance concerns following two performance improvement plans. The adjudicator found that he had not provided details of comparable employees or other facts capable of raising an inference of discrimination. The complaint was declared not well-founded, and no compensation was awarded.
