The Workplace Relations Commission has ordered A.P. Haslam Limited to pay workshop operative Jose David Sierralta Madriz €4,800 after upholding complaints over missing written employment terms and penalisation for asserting his statutory rights. Adjudication Officer Michael MacNamee’s decision was dated 5 December 2025.

The company accepted it had not provided written terms within the required period. It said it later offered a contract and four weeks’ pay. Sierralta Madriz said pressure and monitoring followed his complaint, and that a manager threatened dismissal if workers discussed the contract dispute with a visiting client. The officer accepted his unchallenged evidence of intimidation and penalisation.
