The Workplace Relations Commission ordered Midland Wall Insulation to pay plasterer Mogadja Gheorghe €1,100 compensation after finding an unlawful wage deduction. Adjudication Officer Brian Dalton dated the decision 22 June 2026. Gheorghe claimed €1,800 for house facade work, saying payment was calculated by square metre. The company said he was a subcontractor and payment was withheld because work was faulty or unfinished. The officer found Gheorghe was an employee under the Payment of Wages Act and that most of the work was acceptable. After allowing for agreed costs to finish and remedy work, €1,100 remained payable; the shortfall was an unlawful deduction.
