The Workplace Relations Commission ordered JMS Holdings International Ltd, trading as Shanahan’s on the Green, to pay former butcher Mr Anthony Dunne €6,461.52 for minimum notice and €2,584.60 gross for unpaid wages and leave-related payments. The decision was dated 2 May 2025. Dunne said he received no notice when the business closed and was owed his last week’s wages, pay for accrued annual leave and a bank holiday. The WRC upheld both complaints, finding he was entitled to eight weeks’ minimum notice and that the reported wages and leave payments were properly payable. The employer did not attend the hearing or provide evidence.
