A public body employee had already received her public holiday entitlements for 2022 and 2023, the Workplace Relations Commission found in a dispute over leave during maternity and parental leave. The decision was dated 2 May 2025, and the adjudicator made no recommendation in the dispute.

The worker sought six public holidays during maternity leave in 2022 and two during parental leave in 2023. The public body said its annual leave allocation included public holidays and Good Friday. The adjudicator found that the worker’s 35 days of annual leave included ten public holidays and a day for Good Friday. The worker had already received her public holiday entitlements for both years and could carry annual leave into a new year.
