The Workplace Relations Commission has directed Unity Healthcare Services Limited to pay Nombeko Hlabangana €30,420 in compensation after finding her complaint of unpaid wages well founded. Adjudication Officer Breiffni O'Neill dated the decision 13 February 2026.
Hlabangana said she was offered healthcare assistant work at €585 a week, with a promised start date of 1 November 2023, but never began work despite repeated promises. The officer found she remained employed and was owed wages for 20 June to 19 December 2024. The respondent made no submissions. A separate claim covering an earlier period was rejected because the WRC found it had no jurisdiction after declining to extend the time limit.
