The Workplace Relations Commission has directed Unity Healthcare Services Limited to pay Brenda Mubaiwa €30,420 in compensation after finding her complaint of unpaid wages well founded. Adjudication Officer Breiffni O'Neill dated the decision 13 February 2026.
Mubaiwa said she was offered healthcare assistant work at €585 a week but never started despite repeated promises. The officer found she remained employed and was owed wages for 20 June to 19 December 2024. The respondent made no submissions. The WRC had no jurisdiction to hear her separate claim for an earlier period because it rejected her request to extend the time limit.
