The Workplace Relations Commission ordered Unity Healthcare Service Limited to pay Shingirirai Chiwaridzo €30,420 compensation after finding her first unpaid-wages complaint well founded. The decision was dated 13 February 2026.
Chiwaridzo told the WRC she had been promised €585 a week as a healthcare assistant but had not started work and received only €400 in March 2024. The respondent made no submissions. The adjudication officer found she remained employed and received no wages from 20 June to 19 December 2024. The award was subject to tax and normal statutory deductions.
A second complaint seeking to cover an earlier period was outside the WRC’s jurisdiction because the officer found no justifiable excuse for the delay.
