The Workplace Relations Commission found two complaints by Niall Mulchinock against the Department Of Housing, Local Government and Heritage not well founded. The decision was dated 22 May 2025. Mulchinock alleged that, after an interview in April 2023, he was deemed ineligible for a permanent post and less experienced colleagues received the positions. The department argued the complaint was brought under the wrong legislation and was out of time. The adjudicator said the two complaints concerned the same issue and were referred outside the six-month period, with no application to extend time or reasonable cause advanced.
