The Workplace Relations Commission has ordered Emerald Venture Capital Limited in Liquidation to pay Giullia Sacmori De Souza €981.07 compensation for unpaid wages. Adjudication Officer Catherine Byrne dated the decision 7 January 2025. De Souza said she was not paid for her final week after her employment ended. The company did not attend the hearing, though the officer was satisfied it had notice. Payslips and liquidator correspondence supported her unrebutted account. The officer found wages properly due had not been paid, in breach of the Payment of Wages Act 1991.
