The Workplace Relations Commission ruled it had no jurisdiction over Mathew Varghese’s two complaints challenging his enrolment in the Single Public Service Pension Scheme from 6 July 2015. The complaints alleged less favourable treatment under fixed-term work and temporary agency worker laws; the WRC found both were outside the statutory time limit and made no substantive determination. No award was recorded. The Health Service Executive Our Lady Of Lourdes Hospital argued the complaints were out of time and denied less favourable treatment. The WRC found Varghese knew of the different pension scheme by 2019. Adjudication Officer Louise Boyle’s decision was dated 12 February 2026.
