WRC finds it cannot hear HSA employee’s sick leave complaint

The Workplace Relations Commission found it had no jurisdiction to hear Patricia Murray’s complaint against the Health And Safety Authority (Hsa) over classifying her absence as sick leave. Murray sought reclassification after a road traffic accident; the HSA argued a mediation settlement covering employment claims barred the case. The adjudication officer found the settlement terms clear and unambiguous. No award was made.
