The WRC directed Panscape Partition Systems Ltd to pay Michael Forde €2,064 in compensation after finding his travel-pay complaint well founded. The decision was dated 15 November 2024.
Forde said his contract entitled him to two hours of daily travel pay, including on bank holidays and annual leave, and that the payment had gone unpaid since 5 January 2024. The company argued the payment was not wages under the Payment of Wages Act and said it could not afford the additional travel pay after its client stopped reimbursing it. Adjudication Officer Úna Glazier-Farmer found the travel payment was contractual and rejected the company’s argument.
