The Workplace Relations Commission rejected Daniel Kennoy’s claim for eight weeks’ minimum notice pay after he accepted voluntary redundancy from Tesco Ireland Ltd. The decision was dated 28 April 2025. Kennoy argued that he remained entitled to notice and that his waiver was not legally informed. Tesco said the redundancy agreement waived statutory and contractual claims. Adjudication Officer Emile Daly found that Kennoy chose redundancy instead of continuing in a different role and had time to seek and obtained union advice before signing the waiver.
