The Workplace Relations Commission upheld Liam O'Raghallaigh’s complaint that Heneghan Transport Limited unlawfully deducted his final wages, but made no compensation award because the wages had been refunded. The decision was dated 12 February 2025. O'Raghallaigh said his final pay was withheld because of damage to the van he drove, and that he had worked more hours than he was paid. The company said it deducted the wages for significant van damage and maintained records of hours worked. The adjudication officer found O'Raghallaigh had not been notified in writing before the deduction.
