The Workplace Relations Commission has directed Proper Innovation Limited, trading as The Merchant, to pay former employee Chloe O’Connor €1,415.68, equal to two weeks’ gross pay, after finding she did not receive written terms of employment within the statutory time limits. O’Connor worked for the company from February to April 2024. The company said it had sent her terms in February to an incorrect email address by mistake and argued she suffered no detriment. The adjudicator found that she did not receive the terms within the required time. The decision was dated 18 October 2024.
