The Workplace Relations Commission upheld two complaints by Denisa Stefania Costea against Ziggy Investments Limited trading as Eddie Rocket's. It ordered €1,422 compensation for failing to provide written employment terms and a further €1,422 for penalising her after she sought those terms. WRC Adjudication Officer David James Murphy issued the decision, dated 18 November 2025.

Costea worked at the restaurant from 15 October 2023 until 25 February 2024. She said she had asked for a contract because she was hired for full-time hours but was not assigned them. The WRC found she had not received a statement of core employment particulars during her employment. The respondent did not attend the hearing, although the adjudicator was satisfied it had notice.

On the second complaint, Costea said she was dismissed for seeking written terms. The respondent said work had slowed, but the WRC noted there was still a need for new staff. It found Costea had established an inference that seeking written terms was an operative consideration in her dismissal. With no evidence from the respondent to rebut that inference, the WRC found the complaint of penalisation well-founded.
