The Workplace Relations Commission awarded Aisling Walsh €27,500 after finding that Securitas Security Services (Ireland) Limited unfairly dismissed her. Adjudication Officer Hugh Lonsdale’s decision was dated 16 December 2024.
Walsh said she was dismissed after maternity leave and denied a return on her previous terms. The company said the client had withdrawn approval for her role and the dismissal was redundancy. The officer found the company had decided her employment had ended and did not genuinely engage with her during consultation. The Commission rejected her complaints under the Maternity Protection Act, the Terms of Employment (Information) Act and the Employment Equality Act.
