The Workplace Relations Commission found Carolyn Byrne’s complaint against Hewlett Packard Enterprise Ireland Limited was not well founded in a decision dated 11 May 2026. Byrne alleged she missed a salary increase while on maternity leave. The WRC found the alleged contravention occurred in November 2022 and was confirmed in early 2023, outside the period it could consider. The employer said a managerial oversight caused the missed increase, which it later rectified with a 5% increase effective 1 May 2024. The WRC found the effects of the missed increase continuing did not extend the cognisable period under the applicable provision.
