WRC rejects discrimination complaint against Sligo creche

The Workplace Relations Commission found that Oxana Bolshanina was not discriminated against by Scooters Montessori Creche on grounds of age or nationality. The decision was dated 3 October 2024. Bolshanina said comments and treatment around transport, appointments and her nationality amounted to discrimination. The employer denied treating her less favourably and said its policies applied equally. The adjudication officer said Bolshanina had not shown that a comparable employee was treated differently, so the legal burden did not shift to the employer. The complaint was found not well-founded.
