The Workplace Relations Commission found that Ben Whelan’s two complaints against Metron Stores Limited t/a Iceland (in liquidation) were filed outside the six-month time limit. The decision was dated 27 August 2024. Whelan said he was owed about €1,513 for accrued annual leave and about €100 for his final two weeks’ pay. The company did not attend the hearing. The adjudication officer found that his efforts to resolve the matter with managers did not provide reasonable cause to extend the deadline. The merits of the alleged unpaid wages and leave were not decided.
