The Workplace Relations Commission found Gavin Teehan’s wage complaint against Altada Technology Solutions Ltd. well founded and directed the company to pay €37,671 in gross outstanding salary, €14,152 for untaken annual leave and €10,520 in notice pay. The decision was dated 27 August 2024; the sums are subject to legal deductions.

Teehan said the company reduced his wages from July to September 2022 and paid nothing for October to December. The respondent did not appear. The adjudication officer extended the time to bring the complaint, finding reasonable cause, no prejudice to the company and a good arguable case.

The officer found that the unpaid salary, annual leave and notice pay were unlawful deductions under the Payment of Wages Act. The complaint was partly upheld: the officer said the Act did not give the WRC jurisdiction to award VHI contributions or unreimbursed travel and phone expenses.
