The Workplace Relations Commission ordered Seatang Ltd Cavistons to pay Alison Tierney €5,230 compensation after upholding her complaint that she was not given written terms of employment. The decision was dated 13 March 2024. Tierney worked as a chef from August 2022 until April 2023 and said she repeatedly requested written terms. The company accepted that an administrative lapse meant it had not supplied them and said it had taken steps to prevent a repeat. The adjudicator treated failures to provide information within five days and within one month as separate breaches, but considered a four-week offer acceptable in the circumstances. The order was for €5,230 compensation.
