The Workplace Relations Commission upheld six complaints by Janaina Barbosa against Lifetimecare Limited, including claims for unpaid wages, annual leave, redundancy and minimum notice. It ordered the company to pay €2,310 compensation for annual leave and €1,155 for minimum notice, as well as other sums. Barbosa worked as an office manager earning €577.50 a week. She said she was owed wages for two weeks in September and October 2023 and had taken no annual leave that year. The company told staff on 5 October 2023 it was ceasing trading that day. The WRC also allowed her redundancy claim, awarding a lump sum based on her employment from 23 August 2021 to 5 October 2023 and gross weekly pay of €577.50, subject to the employment being insurable. It upheld three wage complaints, awarding €577.50, €577.50 and €462, and ordered €1,155 for minimum notice. The decision was dated 13 March 2024.
