The Workplace Relations Commission found that HA O’Neill Limited did not unlawfully withhold a 2022 bonus from former commercial division manager Caitríona Gallagher. In a decision dated 20 March 2025, adjudication officer Catherine Byrne ruled her Payment of Wages Act complaint was not well founded. Gallagher said the company owed her €50,000 for work in 2022. HA O’Neill argued that performance bonuses were decided after annual accounts and reviews, and paid only to employees still in service. The WRC found that the claimed bonus was not properly payable under the company’s established practice. No award was made.
