The Workplace Relations Commission rejected Isabela Sfetcu’s race discrimination complaint against Dunnes Stores, finding she had not established that she was discriminated against. The decision was dated 21 February 2024.
Sfetcu, who worked as a packer at the company’s Blanchardstown store, alleged that her line manager treated her differently because of her race, ignored her grievances and allowed colleagues to mistreat her. Dunnes Stores denied the allegations.
The officer found the allegations were unsupported by evidence and preferred the manager’s account that the alleged incidents had not occurred. The complaint concerned race discrimination only; her dismissal was not before the WRC.
