WRC rejects Igor Knizek’s unpaid wages complaints against Seylene Limited

The Workplace Relations Commission found Igor Knizek’s complaints against Seylene Limited not well founded in a decision dated 13 December 2023. He sought payment for annual leave, night shift underpayment and salary paid into an old bank account. Knizek said he worked as a receptionist at Hotel St George, while the parties gave different accounts of his employment periods and roles. The company said his annual leave had been correctly paid, his contract did not provide an enhanced night shift rate, and he had agreed to repay salary that could not be retrieved from the old account. The adjudication officer accepted the company’s evidence, finding no further annual leave or night shift payment was due. The officer also found the salary could not be retrieved because of an issue between Knizek and his bank. The complaints were found not well founded.
