WRC finds Cagla Aydin’s redundancy and notice complaints not well founded after she missed hearing

The Workplace Relations Commission found Cagla Aydin’s redundancy and minimum notice complaints against Shannagh Bay Healthcare Limited not well founded in a decision dated 13 December 2023. Aydin said she was not paid redundancy when her workplace closed. Aydin did not attend the hearing. The company said it had announced redundancies at a staff meeting and that outstanding sums due to former employees, including Aydin, had since been paid. The decision said it seemed probable that outstanding issues had been resolved, but Aydin did not attend to present her case; the merits were not decided.
