The Workplace Relations Commission awarded Patrick Reddy €1,097.70 after finding that his written employment terms did not clearly state his gross hourly rate. The decision was dated 9 January 2024; the award equalled one week’s gross wages. The WRC accepted the respondent’s evidence that a contract had been posted to Reddy and a copy was produced at the hearing. But neither side could agree on the gross hourly rate, which the officer said should have been clear in the contract. Reddy’s separate minimum notice complaint was not well founded: the officer found he left his employment and was not entitled to minimum notice. The claims were linked to a dispute addressed in a separate recommendation.
