The Workplace Relations Commission found Michael Clarke’s age discrimination complaint against Bus Eireann not well founded, with no award. Adjudication Officer Jim Dolan’s decision was dated 8 October 2025. Clarke alleged that he had difficulty obtaining cross-border pink tickets and was denied toilet access at Monaghan station. Bus Eireann said drivers were unfamiliar with the ticket system and a driver lacked access to the station toilets after hours. The WRC found the ticket refusal was unrelated to Clarke’s age, while saying he was treated poorly and noting that management had apologised.
