WRC closes wages complaints against Astopia Dublin after liabilities paid

The Workplace Relations Commission closed two complaints by former bar worker Lila Funge against Astopia Dublin (Oriental Wellbeing Foods) Ltd after the company paid all liabilities by the hearing. The decision was dated 8 April 2024. Funge had complained of unpaid wages and withheld tips and gratuities after working at a restaurant for €320 a week. The employer said all monies due had been paid. The adjudication officer said the complaints were deemed properly founded in theory, but because liabilities had been discharged, the case could not proceed further and was closed.
