The Workplace Relations Commission awarded Richard Green €27,645 for unfair dismissal and €8,000 for disability discrimination after finding that Tramline Taverns Limited had dismissed him under a redundancy that was not genuine. The decision was dated 8 April 2024.

Green, an operations manager, said he was not consulted before his role was made redundant and was prevented from returning after he was certified fit following heart surgery. The company's liquidator did not participate in the hearing and neither conceded nor opposed the complaints. The adjudication officer found Green had been unfairly dismissed and discriminated against when he was not allowed to return to work while fit. In setting the unfair dismissal award, the officer noted Green could have made greater efforts to find work.
