The Workplace Relations Commission made no separate finding or award on Barry McKelvey’s complaint that Iarnrod Eireann, Irish Rail deducted €200 from his wages without written consent. Adjudication Officer Conor Stokes, in a decision dated 4 December 2024, recorded that the complaint was a duplicate and should be read with ADJ 43451. McKelvey said the deductions were unlawful under the Payment of Wages Act 1991. The employer said the deductions were to recover legal costs arising from court proceedings. The decision did not determine the complaint or either party’s account of the costs amount.
