The Workplace Relations Commission awarded Polina Andreeva €21,307.67 after finding that Layer Digital Solutions Limited Layer had unlawfully withheld salary and other pay. The decision was dated 30 January 2024.
Andreeva worked as a quality assurance manager from July 2022 until she resigned on 29 May 2023. She told the WRC she had not been paid her April and May salary, had taken no holidays that year and remained available during four weeks’ notice without pay. No one appeared for the company at the hearing.
The award covers €13,194.84 for unpaid salary, €1,730.22 for untaken holidays and €6,384.60 in pay in lieu of notice. The WRC found the complaint well founded and said the award was subject to taxation and normal statutory deductions.
