Derrycourt wins transfer complaints over hospital cleaning contract

The Workplace Relations Commission found four complaints by Jelena Jevsejeva against Derrycourt Cleaning Specialists not well founded. The decision was dated 30 January 2024. Jevsejeva worked for Emerald Facility Service, which lost a hospital cleaning contract to Derrycourt. She said she was not properly consulted or notified in writing about the transfer and lost seven weeks’ pay. Derrycourt said it had not been told she would transfer or given her details. The adjudication officer accepted evidence that Emerald had consulted affected staff and discussed options with Jevsejeva. She believed she could stay with Emerald, and the transfer deadline passed; the officer found Derrycourt was not liable for the delay.
