The Workplace Relations Commission found that Liam O’Leary’s complaint against Irish Guide Dogs For The Blind was not well founded. O’Leary said he had been placed too low on the salary scale and claimed a €1,347.50 shortfall over six months. The employer said his apprenticeship contract set his pay and that he had been paid the salary due under it. The WRC found that the applicable scale set his January 2020 pay point at €31,076 and concluded that the wages properly payable had been paid. The decision was dated 28 February 2024.
