The Workplace Relations Commission has found against Fionnuala Barrett in her claim for €1,074.91 in back pay from a 3% pay rise. The decision was dated 7 March 2024. Barrett said the increase should have been backdated to 1 February 2022. St Vincent's Private Hospital Ltd argued it applied only to staff on its payroll on 1 December 2022, when Barrett was no longer employed there. Her employment ended on 30 November 2022, and the retrospective increase was paid to staff in March 2023. The adjudication officer found that all wages properly payable to Barrett had been paid and that the hospital had not breached the Payment of Wages Act 1991. Her complaint was found not well founded.
